2nd INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CANCER AND LIPIDOMICS

There has been a significant increase in lipidomics research in recent years. This field of research focuses on identifying lipid types, measuring their concentrations and examining their distributions, as well as understanding their overall metabolic pathways, and includes comprehensive analysis and characterization of lipids within specific cells and organisms. The role of lipids as bioactive molecules has gained crucial importance in understanding how biological systems work as well as investigating the pathophysiology of particular diseases.

The main objective of this workshop is to elucidate in detail the relationship between sphingolipid biology and the progression of cancer. During the workshop, we will discuss and hypothesize about potential targets for developing cancer drugs. To this end, the workshop will form collaborations with researchers who are experts and experienced in lipidomics, cancer biology and immunology who will have the potential to lead to large-scale new projects (such as TUBITAK-NSF, TUBITAK-NIH).
